Abano Therapy is a newly established clinic that offers one-on-one premium services. Patient will be evaluated by the Dr. of Physical Therapist, and during the first session, the physical therapist will identify abnormalities, based on ultrasound imaging, special tests, medical history, and functional movement abnormalities. After the initial evaluation, treatment will be provided such as: Ultrasound guided dry needling, manipulation (grade V mobs), high level exercises, education, and more. PT will provide emailed copy of exercise program when requested. Patient is encouraged to ask as many questions as they can during the initial evaluation.
Initial Evaluation: Evaluate to diagnosing Rotator cuff, tennis elbow, hip pain, knee OA, headaches, cervical thoracic lumbar abnormalities, plantar fasciitis and more. We provide ultrasound guided dry needling with ESTIM, spinal manipulation (grade V mobilization), cupping (fire cupping and regular cupping), gait assessment, functional movement assessment, and education. We provide home exercises program, and updated when requested.
Manual therapy is hands-on treatment used to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore normal movement.
Our therapists use skilled techniques to address joint stiffness, muscle tightness, and soft-tissue restrictions that limit function.
Manual therapy helps prepare your body for exercise by decreasing pain and improving movement quality—so you can move more comfortably and effectively during rehabilitation.
Manual therapy is not a stand-alone treatment—it works best when combined with therapeutic exercise. By improving mobility and reducing pain, manual therapy allows you to move better, strengthen properly, and achieve longer-lasting results.
Joint stiffness and limited range of motion
Muscle tightness and trigger points
Pain from injury, overuse, or arthritis
Movement restrictions affecting daily activities, work, or sport
Joint mobilization and manipulation
Soft tissue mobilization
Myofascial release
Trigger point techniques
Muscle energy techniques
Rehabilitation is a structured, goal-oriented process designed to restore movement, function, and independence following injury, surgery, or pain-related conditions. It focuses on improving mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical performance while reducing pain and preventing future injury.
Through a combination of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education, rehabilitation addresses not only symptoms but the underlying causes of dysfunction. The process is individualized, progressive, and guided by evidence-based practice to ensure safe and effective recovery.
Rehabilitation empowers individuals to actively participate in their recovery, promoting long-term function, resilience, and a return to meaningful daily and athletic activities.
Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of injuries and conditions affecting the muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, and bones. It is commonly used to treat pain and movement limitations related to sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, overuse conditions, and degenerative joint disorders.
Treatment emphasizes restoring mobility, strength, stability, and functional movement through a combination of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and activity-specific training. Care is individualized and guided by evidence-based practice to address the root cause of dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms.
The goal of orthopedic physical therapy is to help individuals return to daily activities, work, and sport with improved movement quality, reduced pain, and long-term injury prevention.
Dry needling is a targeted treatment used to reduce pain, muscle tension, and movement restrictions.
By addressing dysfunctional muscle and connective tissue, dry needling helps calm pain, improve mobility, and restore normal muscle function.
It’s often used alongside manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to help you move better and progress more comfortably through rehabilitation.
Muscle tightness and trigger points
Chronic pain conditions
Joint-related pain (shoulder, hip, knee, spine)
Tendon and overuse injuries
Pain limiting strength or movement
Dry needling helps reduce pain and muscle guarding, allowing you to:
Move with less discomfort
Improve range of motion
Activate muscles more effectively
Get better results from exercise and rehab
Ultrasound-guided dry needling is an advanced technique that combines real-time diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound with precise dry needling treatment. Using ultrasound imaging allows the clinician to visualize muscles, tendons, and surrounding structures, ensuring accurate needle placement and enhanced safety during treatment.
The purpose of ultrasound-guided dry needling is to target specific dysfunctional or injured tissues that contribute to pain, movement restriction, and impaired muscle performance. By directly addressing these areas, treatment can help reduce pain, improve tissue mobility, restore normal muscle activation, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
This approach is especially valuable for treating deeper or more complex structures, minimizing risk to surrounding nerves and blood vessels while improving clinical precision. Ultrasound guidance also allows treatment to be adapted in real time based on tissue response, making care both individualized and evidence-informed.
At Abano Therapy, ultrasound-guided dry needling is used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan—not a standalone solution—to support meaningful, long-term functional improvement.
